NumPad rewards patience and pure logic.
NumPad is the most logic-intensive game on DailyGames.cc. There's no luck involved — every puzzle is solvable through deduction alone. Here's how to approach it systematically.
Step 1: Scan for forced cells
Before making any marks, scan the entire grid for cells where only one number can possibly fit. These 'forced' cells are your foundation.
Step 2: Use elimination
For each empty cell, list the numbers that CAN'T go there based on row, column, and section constraints. When only one possibility remains, fill it in.
Step 3: Look for hidden singles
Sometimes a number can only go in one place within a row, column, or section — even if that cell has multiple candidates. This is a 'hidden single' and it's the key to intermediate-level solving.
Step 4: Use pairs and triples
If two cells in a row can only contain the same two numbers, those numbers are locked to those cells. You can eliminate them from other cells in that row. This technique, called 'naked pairs,' unlocks harder puzzles.
Step 5: Never guess
If you're tempted to guess, you haven't found all the logical deductions yet. Step back, re-scan, and look for a constraint you missed. Every NumPad puzzle is solvable without guessing.
